Gots meself a brand new lens the other day! 35mm 1.8, and although I have yet to get an 'amazing' shot with it, I gotta say that this lens is responsible for some of the best 'boring' shots I've ever taken!

Little trip to Austin, Texas this week. The actual 'move' was nothing short of one catastrophe after another, but we did manage to get out to Lake Travis for some deep water soloing. Go figure, the water was down 60 feet from this time last year, but we still found a few things to monkey around on.

Thanks to good friends who get me day passes and others who lend me zoom lenses, I found myself at Barber Motorsports Parkway today for the Porsche 250. I arrived a bit late, but was still able to get a couple good shots.

And now for the tracking...

Thanks to Jeff and Amber for the zoom and the passes!

After I left, I was on my way to get some food when Hunter pulled up beside me on the interstate. We exchanged a few hand gestures and next thing I know, I've abandoned my plan of eating to follow Hunter to the Boulder Fields.

Yet another wonderful day in the dirty south!
Tuesday night was the opening night of Stillwater Pub, which is pretty much Baileys all over again! Good people, good drinks and good music.

Wendesday morning was a bit of a hassel, waking up and Driving up to North Carolina, but all went well, money was given, and plenty of shots were taken.

Now, maybe my mind is just in the gutter, but I'm not to sure if this is the best name for a business...

Off now to Barber Motor Sports to try and get some shots of the Porsche 250! Wish me luck!

Today was just like any other mid July day in Alabama, ridiculously hot and humid, the same way it's been for the past eternity. The only thing that separates this summer from every other is the fact that bouldering is now an option! Thank God for large warehouse spaces with lots of air conditioning ducts!

Happiness is being surrounded by 16 inches of foam

Starting to learn my way around the gym... should be interesting finding all the other options for shots from atop the boulders.
Here's a few shots to keep everyone entertained until I actually go out and do something worth mentioning.

Over the past two weeks, I successfully managed to disconnect myself form the world and avoid any internet correspondence, and I must say it was easier than I thought! The fact that I had no say in when the internet would be turned back on played a large role in my success, but I still feel as if I've accomplished something worthy of being mentioned.

With the net working again and that whole charade well in the past, I find myself eager to blog but not so enthused with giving back stories and structure to each photo, so with no further ado, I give you a collage of memories...

Small trip to North Carolina involving a tunnel and a whole mess of attempts at double exposures.

Next up is a lazy day spent with good company at several refreshing locations.

Up next we have a foggy valley sunrise and more progress from first ave rocks.

And finally we have the 4th of July weekend. Skating, drinking, wakeboarding, swimming and a whole lot of not sleeping.

... and that should have us all caught up, so sleep well children, for with tomorrow comes another chance to manifest a glorifying sense of reality, and then capture that glory through a 17-55mm lens.
