Today was a good day at the citadel! Sendfest 09 with a high of 48! David and Josh sent Earl the Squirrel (hard), Naize impressed us all when he laid down the snail (hard) on his flash attempt, I managed to get 2 entirely new and equally as hard problems, and then Josh made it to the finishing jugs on big papa (very hard) only to be too pumped out from a full day of bouldering to finish! Next time, Josh. Next time. Point of the post- Very good day today! Now it's back to chattanooga for some well earned showers, then more rocktown!

Josh- Earl the Squirrel

Naize-The Snail (flashed)

Josh-Big Papa

Even this guy had a great day, eating bread and peanut butter and all that good stuff!

today was yet another day devoted to exploring our surroundings. We parked David's van just up the road from Miguel's Pizza, then drove Bryson's car up to the parking lot at Rock Bridge, over 18 miles away. That's where the hike began. I made it from the Rock Bridge to Chimney Rock, about 6.3 miles away, then turned around and hiked 6.3 miles back to Bryson's car at sunset. The rest of the hike has plenty of hidden arches and waterfalls to take pictures of, but seeing as the sun had gone down and there was no chance of getting any decent shots of any of these, I decided not to lug my camera and tripod the rest of the way. Now here I sit, eating a tasty BBQ chicken pizza from Miguel's, drinking a cold, frothy beverage and uploading the story and photo's of today to my blog while Bryson and David trek through the gorge in the dark. Have fun guys!

That's it for today. With any luck, we'll be back on the rock tomorrow.

Cute dogs and deadly spiders

Belly dancers and Little River Canyon bouldering make for good weekends.

And one more of Moot, simply because you can never have to much puppy dog!

Today was a day well spent conditioning on ropes up at Little River Canyon. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a typical day at the crag. Friends, dogs, harnesses, dogs being hurled over 20 foot ledges in harnesses, and headless pigeons. Yup, just another day like every other day.

Yup, another ordinary day of crushing...

And for our parting shot, something interesting in the sky, staring Moja and featuring Bryson.

Houston trip tomorrow. Gonna be seeing a whole lotta I-10 over the next few days...

Finally found some free time outside of work to do absolutely nothing, and it was everything I dreamed it would be and more! Unfortunately, one of the repercussions of not doing anything is not having any pictures worthy of posting. I did, however, see something new; A lizard caught in a spider web. Was thinking I was gonna get to witness some feeding frenzy action straignt out of National Geographic, but there was no spider to be found, so lucky Mr. Bluetail lived to see another day.

Had several random encounters with nature this past week.

Today, I found myself at Lake Mitchel, enjoying the sun with some good friends from way back when. It's wakeboarding season!

Looking forward to getting some really good shots over the next few weeks, and with any luck, avoiding any mishaps involving my camera and the bottom of the lake...

This past Sunday Josh, David and Liz hosted a crawfish boil/housewarming/birthday party. If you boil it, they will come... And they did! Infant to elder, boarder to biker and everyone in between gathered in the newly landscaped backyard, complete with a full size trampoline, more food than the counters could hold and enough alcohol for a catholic mass. Not always the best combination, but this time it worked!

Several were hesitant to try the lobster of the south, but just the right amount of peer presure can go a long way. Here's Adam suckin butt for the first time.

Now for some trampoline shots.

More people, more dogs, more crawfish.

Thanks again to Liz and the Howard boys for putting this all together! Can't wait till next year!

Today was the first day I could really get out and enjoy myself without a stinging pain running from my right forearm down to my knee... Prescription pain killers probably helped a little.

Hung out at Josh and Davids new place. Nice house with a pretty fun backyard!

Finally got myself back on a board and actually managed to do alot more than I was expecting! The fear of falling on my right side again did hold me back from a few things I really wanted to throw myself down, but all in all it was a pretty good day.

Although I did get a decent picture of Ziggy landing the Glen Iris 3, I chose to put up one of him falling due to the fact that his front left wheel landed directly in a 'No Landing' crack. Enjoy.

*Remote flashes should make these night shots quite impressive in just a few weeks*
